I'm excited about a new actress taking over the role of Lily - I recognize I'm in the minority, but MB's Lily stopped doing it for me when she was about 20.

I wish this actress all the best; I hope viewers will give her a chance; she deserves it. She's certainly brave for stepping into a very popular actress's shoes, but in all honesty, MB chose to leave the role - she was not fired.

I'm happiest for Jon re the recast. I've enjoyed every actress he's ever been involved with, excepting MB. I loved Jon with Melanie Smith (as the original Emily). His shower scene with her was unparalleled!

NB is a really good actress. Though she's not Martha I look forward to seeing how she portrays Lily. I'll give her a chance because I like her and I think she's good at what she does. **And I don't think she looks like Meg!!!:D

Agreed. Just like I pretty much made up my mind beforehand to not like nuCassie and Laura Wright's replacement on GL, I feel the same now.

Martha IS Lily, and she was treated like chit by ATWT. Accepting her replacement, for me, is like giving Chris Goutman a thumbs up for the underhanded, unprofessional crap he pulled. No, thanks.

wow in that photo she looks a little old to be lily. one poster did say that giving her a chance was giving into goutman. so i will not be as open minded as i once said i would be! its true its not like they are recasting just anyone. i hope NuLily has tough skin. especially if she views this board.:mad:

I don't care so much what she looks like, whether or not she resembles Martha or anyone else. I care first that she can act. And then I wonder if she can make me care about Lily. It was Martha that made me care. "Lily" has been frustrating at times :P I'm much more a fan of Martha than I am of the way Lily has been written.

Good luck to Noelle. It's not her fault as to what happened with Martha but I sure don't envy her having to step into this position.

I am more than willing to give her a chance, someone has to! It is not her fault as to how things went down between Chris and Martha. It is a job.

I have seen so many recasts, over the many years I have been watching soaps, I guess I am just used to it. Don't have to like it just used to it. It does not always turn out bad.

Hmmm....This is the new Lily Snyder. I'm with all of you she is going to work a Miracle because Martha Bryne really did a Dynamite Job as playing Lily for so many years. What has made Lily Snyder for so long isn't that she's a total b!tch or a sniveling snob. Martha Byrne was just "Snyderish" enough to pull off the "Lucinda's child." Ms. Beck has never acted this way in any of her roles. If they wanted another Heather Rattray, I'd say they've found her.

Carjackfan, I also don't like what they did to Martha. As far as I am concerned, that was just plain WRONG!

She's been doing a lot of guest roles because she's also wanted to take time to raise her daughters. I remember watching her on Loving when she was on as Trish. As a matter of fact, Trish and Trucker were one of my favorite couples on that show.
