Yes, and according to Ryan's spoilers all he has to do is frame an innocent person for murder in order to make that play.
But I suppose it's alright as long as it's the MEggit he's breaking the law for, right? Which means Paul doesn't have a moral leg to stand on when it comes to anything Ro did.

So long as it's the MEggit benefiting from Paul breaking the law, perfectly alright?

SOD says Paul tells Emily that she needs to defend herself and point the finger at Chris. Why Chris? Paul doesn't really know Chris from adam; I'm sure that the reason is because Emily tells Paul suspicious things about Chris. Paul's not just framing an innocent man; there's more to it than that. In the end nothing comes of it, because Chris is never even going to be arrested for it. No harm, no foul. Paul's heart intent is freeing Holden for Meg's sake; that's it. He's not out to put an innocent man in jail, he's out to get an innocent man out of jail. The way he goes about it is flawed, I agree, but his heart is in the right place. That's what I love about Paul Ryan. He goes about things a little wrong, but he's a hero nonetheless; at least to me. :)

There's just so much wrong with that statement right there. Point the finger at an innocent person, the intent is to put them in jail.

Craig's not right about anything; least of all Paul. I don't see Craig looking out for anyone but himself; he made his meeting with Meg about business. It was all about him getting what he wants. He's the one who hasn't changed. At least Paul is trying and he's doing something, flawed as it may be, to get an innocent man out of jail. Craig is doing NOTHING!

First off, why should Craig do anything? He owes Paul and the MEggit absolutely NOTHING.
Second of all, if Paul wants to help, he'll go about proving Holden's innocence without trying to get an innocent person thrown in jail.

That's NOT his INTENT; his intent is getting Holden out; Holden is innocent. There's a REASON Emily thinks Chris is capable of murder. It's not all cut & dry and black & white like you're making it out to seem. Paul didn't just cross the street, say 'oh that guy looks good to frame' and just does it for no reason. Chris is not Mr. innocent either; he may not have killed Dusty, but he's got secrets up his sleeve of things he's done that are illegal that Emily knows about. Whatever Emily's reason is for thinking Chris murdered Dusty, is the reason Paul is going to suggest that she save herself by blaming him.

I'm sorry, but to point the finger at an innocent person to get someone out of prison? The intent is crystal clear. The intent is put someone else in jail so he can get someone else out.

I don't recall Paul saying no harm, no foul when Craig tried to frame Paul for Rose's death. Nothing came of that in the end either.
Paul's heart intent is freeing Holden for Meg's sake; that's it. He's not out to put an innocent man in jail, he's out to get an innocent man out of jail.
You said it yourself. His intent is to win back Meg. Paul could care less whether Holden is wrongly accused. He is just doing this to score points with Meg. He doesn't care who gets hurt along the way as long as he gets what he wants.

Yep. Paul probably will never change tremendously. I hope Meg comes to grips with it and realizes she just cant live without Paul....and she'll just have to deal with the fact. Hey - a girl can change her mind. I bet Meg does. Whats the point in being "better" if you're not with the man you love and cant stop loving?
Ive been hoping PEG's story has been/will be about Meg coming to terms with who Paul really is. And loving him all the more for it. Yet continuing to fight the good fight to try to save him from himself....and not let him go too far.

BTW Let's not put the cart before the horse; at this point, no one knows that Chris is innocent. Evan has not been revealed to be the killer yet. The only reason anyone's saying that Paul is framing an 'innocent' man is because spoilers have revealed that Evan did it. Emily BTW is framing Chris too, but she's not getting any flack for it so it's ok for Emly but not ok for Paul to think Chris may be guilty?? There's hypocrisy for ya. LOL

Um, Paul's getting the most flack over it because he's the one who suggests it, meaning he's the one pointing the finger at Chris.
Okay, since you brought hypocrisy up in this thread. Wanting Ro thrown in jail and key tossed aside but defending Paul trying to frame an innocent person? There's hypocrisy for ya.

I don't know who's been saying that Craig will do whatever it takes to win Meg back; certainly not me!!! Besides, Meg's not in love with Craig, she's in love with Paul. What's coming up is about Paul and Meg's reconciliation and how that will happen. No matter how wrongly Paul goes about doing the right thing, that's what made her fall in love with him to begin with; and she's going to see that again very shortly. She told her momma the same thing a while ago; she said 'no matter how many times I've tried to walk away I keep coming back to the same essential truth; I love Paul and he loves me!' They're inevitable; and whatever happens in the next few weeks, Paul will win Meg back; not because he went about it the right or wrong way, but because she wants to be gotten by him. She wants to see him fight for their love; he's going to wear her down; I am going to have fun watching it!!

I'm so glad that someone pointed out in this thread that Paul and Chris were cousins.
So, I DO think he knows Chris "from Adam" and his INTENT is to get back a lover by hurting another person.
He's not saving anyone. He's not doing any good.
There's nothing altruistic in his actions.
He can't cry to anyone when the Hughes family finds out that Paul was setting up their Chris.
He can't apologise to Emily when he does even more damage to her.
He can't claim that anyone is the bad guy but him.
What will he say to Oakdale when everyone finds out that no, Meg did NOT change him, that in fact his obsessive need to be ruled by her has completely wiped out his conscience and his common sense.
What's he going to say?
She's great in the sack?
We look good in pictures together?
We have forever love?
I'd like to see him try it.
It's funny that Craig showed a conscience on more than one occasion and he knew when to leave well enough alone and yet he is supposedly this evil villain that is so written into a corner that he's irredeemable and must be written out.
Looks to me like Paul Ryan gets more criminal, more cold-hearted, more desperate and more selfish every day.
Is Meg going to want to be with the town's real villain? The one who can't think of anyone but himself?
Or is she going to want to make amends to Christopher Hughes with the model good looks and the fabulous job. The one she can see as a project like she saw Paul and Craig before her?

Meg has VERY MUCH loved Paul continuously, that's why it's been impossible to let go of him, even when he does wrong!! After she had called of their wedding, she told Holden she was better off without him and even Holden knew better as he said 'are you sure about that, or are you just trying to convince yourself?' The love Meg has for Paul is never going away no matter what. That's another thing she reiterated this past Tuesday to him; that she can't stop herself from loving him. What I'm excited about is that Meg has come to terms with the fact she can't change Paul; GOOD! Now it's just a matter of time before she decides that she should've never tried; it'll be a freeing experience and they'll be back together and better than ever!! I can't wait!!

I enjoyed Paul and Meg initially but as of late - not so much. And I hope it's wrong but I've heard Paul is going to "celebrate" Rosanna going back into a coma which annoys the crap out of me - especially given that Paul was once supposed to love Ro.
My wish - is that Paul is beginning to slowly become more like his father. We need a villian in Oakdale and James has become too much of a cartoon-like character. It'd be good to see Babs start to see her son becoming his father and her reaction to that - along with the rest of OD.

To date, I haven't seen any spoilers that indicate that Paul goes anywhere to celebrate Rosanna's relapse. SODigest said that Paul finds out that Rosanna is in a coma and he makes a play for Meg. BUT........the play for Meg, from the sequence that SOD spelled out says he does this after Rosanna is locked up....but prior to her relapse. So any celebrating on Pauls behalf is purely speculation from what Ive read and seen in actual spoilers.

I think a lot of viewers are going more on actions than words when it comes to Paul and Meg. Neither one is faithful or stable or honest with themselves or others.
Both Paul and Meg have told other people they loved them.
In fact, Paul has sworn undying love and proposed to every woman he's been with for many years now. His words, as well as Meg's mean little.

They are victimizers - not victims.
^^^You nailed that one, Scarlett!
I can name a lot of characaters on this show that have become a victim of FOREVER HYPOCRISY!!!
Oh, and thanks to whomever pointed out that Paul and Chris are cousins. Guess it doesn't matter what part of his family he is putting the screws to, as long as he gets the Twit in the end!

Who hasn't in soapland???!!! and Paul has only sworn undying love to three women, Rose who's dead, Rosanna back in 2005 and Meg since 2006. He never denied having feelings for Meg when he was with Rosanna this time around. He should've told Rosanna the ENTIRE truth, that he's been in love with Meg all along, but that's what Paul's had to pay for. So now, he's trying to make it right. He finally told Rosanna that he never stopped loving Meg and he's going to do whatever it takes to win Meg back. They're not perfect, that's true, but they're REAL; that's what I love about Paul and Meg. They've made mistakes, and they've owned up to them. This is a new and fresh start for both and I have no doubt that they will work all of it out and end up together which is where they should've been all along.

Through it all.....ups, downs, breakups...Meg has never stopped loving Paul. Nor has he stopped loving her. Its in their dialogue/scripted lines.
Eh, whatever makes you feel good about supporting that couple of yours.

Did anyone even notice the other spoilers? LIke Lilden, Katie, Bob, Barbara... anything other than Maud?
Lily and Holden... hmm... those will probably be some good scenes. I haven't seen it yet obviously, but it sounds intriguing.
Blah blah blah, Rosanna...
Can't figure out why Katie would be concerned when they slept in 2 different rooms, but okay.
I can't wait to see what happened with Babs :)

LOL I commented about Katie way back at the beginning. But don't be looking for that or Babs scenes. I think the TV spoilers were actually spoilers for last Monday's show

:rofl::rofl:
That would make sense. Wasn't it last monday's show that Katie woke up in the car by herself all concerned and stuff? That's probably what it was talking about.
I thought she might be losing her mind or something :P

LOL I know I wondered how she expected to wake up with somebody when she made a point of sleeping alone  And it did make more sense with last week's show. The show was ending today and it dawned on me that we hadn't seen any Katie. And that was a good thing :P
