So the latest rumors is that the show has decided not to recast Dusty, but to fill the void with a recast of Andy Dixon, who has been missing from the canvas for years. He'd be a love interest for Bonnie. For many, many years, Andy was played by Scott DeFreitas, who is married to Maura West (Carly). Now, there were rumors that when the show tried to recast Andy, Maura put her foot down and used some diva antics to get the recast squelched. Later, when Hogan was writing the show he wanted to bring SDF back back in a major storyline, but TPTB at the time, who never liked the actor, nixed the idea. Anyway, here's the actor that is rumored to possibly be playing NuAndy.

Yet another character who's going to be ruined. That seems to be all the writers do when they bring past characters back anyways.

In a sense, I'm glad they recast the characters they bring back. I just couldn't take the original actors in the role and watch them have to play the character ruinations.

Andy was blonde, John Dixon was Blonde the NUandy should be BLONDE if this is the guy he better be a good actor because he does not look like an andy to me. And lets see how bad they will ruin Kims' son.

First of all, SDF is supposedly working in real estate these days in CT, where he and Maura live. He said in an interview he's been wanting to do that for a while.

Well I would much prefer that they ask Scott back also but it is possible too at this point he isn't interested in returning. I know Maura has talked about it is because of Scott that she is able to do what she does with them having 4 kids.

It's also possible this is all only a bad rumor too. No place official has it been confirmed yet. Let's not forget the picture of the guy that had been hired as Casey a couple of months ago that turned out to be a hoax.

Yes, this could also just be a hoax just like the Casey thing a couple of months ago. I would prefer to have Scott come back too, but with the character assassination going rampant on this show, I would rather have a recast then Scott come back and deal with that.

Seriously, this is a HUGE no no. It's like recasting Lily with a non-Martha, and we all know how that turned out. NO NO NO! NO! Did I mention NO! If Scotty D won't come back, don't recast Andy. And if they don't even bother to ask Scotty to come back? A pox on their houses!

Yeah, I'd be just a smidgen ticked off if this rumor pans out.

All that said, that guy is gorgeous and looks like Brian Bloom. And even Danny Markel a tiny bit. He could be Dusty or a Stenbeck of some sort...

That's ridiculous to even bother bringing back Andy if they can't bring back ANDY.

And to be a love interest for Bonnie?

Why not just write a new character and forget ruining one we remember well?
