A Kiss Before Dying?

Katie and Jack’s marriage gets the kiss of death this week on As The World Turns, thanks to an ailing Carly – or does it?

“Katie and Jack are married a day and then Carly gets sick and has only a month or two to live, so he’s off with her!” exclaims Terri Colombino (Katie).

It’s not exactly Katie’s idea of wedded bliss. “She’s like, I can’t handle this. I know she’s sick and I understand you need to be there for your family. But you don’t have to be there 24/7,’” notes Colombino.

Jack doesn’t agree.

With mortgage papers for their brand-new house in hand, Katie gently suggests they find Carly a nurse. Jack balks. “He tells Katie, ‘No! I can’t do that, this is the end of her life. ‘”

Jack goes to his ex’s and winds up seeing the emotional video she made for him. “It’s really beautiful. Carly tells him, ‘I just want to feel what it feels like to be alive again.’ So he kisses her.”

And then he tells Katie. “At first, he’s like, ‘She asked me to kiss her,’ and Katie reacts like, ‘Oh, my God. Okay, wait. What did she say when you said no?’”

Jack fesses up that he didn’t say no. “She starts to freak out again,” winces Colombino. “Then, she says, ‘It’s okay. If I only had one last wish, it would be to kiss you too. It didn’t mean anything, though, right?’”

Think again Katie.

“Then she really freaks out and basically kicks him out,” relates Colombino.

But she holds on to the house and to hope. As for Jack, he heads straight back to Carly – who may have just gotten a new lease on life. <!--IBF.ATTACHMENT_3029-->

where on earth are they going with this? i'd like for someone to actually be happy on this show for a change.

I don't know where they're going with this story Maxie, but I was glad to see that Katie wasn't yelling or anything when she told Jack she wanted him to move out in the previews for next week. She seemed calm. I hope she stays that way.

Calm, but sad. I can see liking the character of Katie again when she grows up some, which she may be doing now. I don't like her with Jack, so I won't shed tears if they break up, but why break up only to have Carly lying about her illness to get Jack? Maybe I am just jumping the gun and should just wait and see what happens, but I don't see a reunion for Carly and Jack on the horizon when she is going to lie about this AND I don't see a marriage working between Katie and Jack now that Jack has admitted he has feelings for carly. So...what is next for these people and why should we even care with these nonsense SLs?

Maybe Jack won't have the reaction to Carly's omission of the truth most people expect him to have and CarJack will reunite.

I think Jack and Katie's marriage could still last even though he's admitted to feeling something for Carly again, but I doubt it will.

Tell me something Maxie. In your opinion, why do you think this kiss affects Jack in a way neither of the other two he and Carly have shared since she returned did not?

Because that's the garbage the writers are selling us:D . No, if I were to buy that Jack just now has realized his feelings for Carly, I could explain it two ways.

1. She is dying and he is feeling no long term stress. Jack has always said that he loves Carly, but can't make a life with her anymore because of her deceit. Well, here he isn't exactly worried about making a life with her -- he is in the moment and he is just loving her.

2. By her dying, Jack has let go of the anger. I think what must have kept Jack from loving Carly all along was that he was so MAD at her. He isn't mad anymore so he is letting himself feel something for her other than the anger and with the anger gone, the love surfaces.

Who knows. Next month he will be professing undying love to Sophie.

You're completely right.....they need to put the character of Carly in a better light because they always have her being the devious one and Katie is the little princess has never done one damn thing wrong in her life in oakdale but she has I mean Katie should not get to be with Jack even when he finds out he can't go back to Katie because Jack just confessed that he still has feelings for Carly so why would Katie let him back in her home when he loves another woman and go into life together and have her say I can't do this anymore you love Carly you always have loved her I was dumb to think this could work out under the circumstances
But yeah Jean needs to work on her Storylines a bit more

i hope they give carly a good reason for not telling the good news and that she will be okay. i hope for carly and jack that it is a real heart felt moment and the will be carjack longer than 10 minuets! maybe carly is going to learn something through this whole thing and scheme less almost like a near death experience.

Aaron and Ali are having a "session" in the barn and Sophie is in the kitchen mopping the floor 9 months pregnant with with her perpetual "lost" look on her face. Jack feels compelled to try to help yet another forlorn woman and presto -- its love. She does look a little like Julia Lindsay...

After the first one, he ran to Katie and proposed, and he admitted they "felt good and stroked his ego". After the ones in Idaho, he moved up the wedding date. I think he was feeling something, he just chose a different way of dealing with them by trying to cement his relationship with Katie. Now, he's actually married to her, and what he feels for Carly obviously hasn't changed.

It'll be interesting to see if the Idaho kisses are part of this "confession" or not. :D

I have hope....it's hard to imagine TIIC continuing to keep Jack and Carly at odds after her very nearly dying. (Yes, there were other times Jack feared for Carly's life, but this is something he had no control over.) And now that Katie sees Brad as a "friend", they're ready to send these couples off in other directions.
