Rosanna Wakes Up!
Quote: After their dream date last week, Paul rushes to Rosanna's bedside in Switzerland to thank her for reviving him - and return the favor.
"He talks a lot, but it's the intent that is clear. I think it is his love and in some ways, his pity, plus some medical help that makes her want to fight to wake up, " explains CM, whose character has been comatose since a 2005 accident when Craig ran her off the road.
Indeed, Rosanna reacts to his voice by squeezing his hand, but Paul - who is pretending to be Craig to gain access to the patient - is discouraged by a nurses report that such behavior is normal for someone in a coma.
But as soon as he leaves the room, Rosanna open her eyes and says his name. With that, the doctors propose an experimental drug, which Paul (as Craig) immediately authorizes.
"There was a new treatment developed that required the signature of her husband. Craig apparently could not be reached, Recounts CM.
It works: she soon opens her eyes again to smile at Paul.
Does she still love him? "Absolutely" says CM.
Even as the doctors caution that her awakening may not be permanent, Paul urges Ro to recover so that together, they can make Craig pay.
"Revenge, as they say, is a dish best served cold. I don't think it's above her, despite her condition," she says.
But Rosanna's two-year sleep has taken toll. "She is a much more more fragile person in some ways; She has trouble walking. [Her first thought is] to go home and see her family.
McClain's on-screen ex has changed a bit, as well - SB is now in the role vacated by HB. "He's is a more insecure Craig who thinks everyone is out to get him" says CM.
But with the most difficult part of acting in a coma ("not breathing too much") behind her, CM didn't have much trouble picking up where she left off.
Somehow pregnant doginess seems to come so naturally for me! Jokes the actress, who was voted most wanted in a recent SOD focus group poll of fans. "That is so cool! I am incredibly pleased and flattered to hear that. I hope this storyline will be very rewarding and entertaining for them.

I can't wait to see Paul and Rosanna back on the same team. The thought of Rosanna not really being completely strong and healthy made me so sad though. I want her to get strong and come back and kick Meg's butt for claiming to love Paul and doing what she's done.
I hope Paul takes good care of Ro. :(

Yeah, it's obvious the writers are keeping this open-ended...

It reminds me a lot of what GH did with Laura's return...the whole 'experimental drug' thing that isn't 'guaranteed', etc.
An easy out.
The only thing I'm even remotely looking forward to in this mess (and even "looking forward to" is an overstatement) is Cady and Scott's first scenes. As a Craig/Ro fan, I'm anxious to see if they have chemistry. Not that that would get me watching again...b/c if Craig ends up with Ro, Paul is stuck with Meg.

I can see how they are leaving an opening for Rosanna ending up back in a coma, but I hope it doesn't come to that. I'd like to see Rosanna get heathly again and go back to Oakdale to kick Craig's butt. It wouldn't hurt if she went after Meg as well. :D Go get 'em Ro.

This sounds really good! I can't wait to see Paul and Rosanna together again. It was worth the wait.
Open-ended is fine with me. I'll take what I can get.
I love the idea of Paul helping Ro with her recovery.

I'm counting on Paul to break her heart, so that Craig can mend it. Because we all know that Paul has one thing on his mind (GET CRAIG) or he would have come and woken Rosanna up long ago.
Does anyone believe that Rosanna wants to be pitied?

I don't. Nor does it say she wants to be pitied. All she says is Paul feels pity(compassion) and LOVE. Not only will he not break her heart, I expect him to fill her heart with his love....and if CRAIG is the one single thing on his mind why go to Rosanna. Her White Knight in dented and bruised armor. :D

:) In a interview that Cady gave she says Paul goes to Ro because he needs her help to bring down Craig. Paul wants to make Craig pay for the pain that he has caused the people he loves.

I'm looking forward to Paul and Rosanna making Craig pay and hopefully freeing Paul of Meg once and for all. It never sounded to me like CM was going to stick around for long, so, I'm all for PRo if the experimental drug is not permanent. I want Paul alone, away from couple drama for a while.

I hope not. I liked Craig and Ro long ago but those days ended when she almost died because of him. No way would she be with the man who almost killed her. Paul is where her heart lies

I still say its going to be Meg that brings Craig down. With Paul. Hell, she might even take Craig down with Paul..for Rosanna. Rosanna is and was part of the deal with Paul's vengence toward Craig. Meg is fully aware of that. Id love to see PEG team up again to get Craig once and for all ......for Rosanna.....with Rosanna....on behalf of Rosanna.
There was and has been so much talk about Ro being the "only one" who could bring Craig down. And now it very blatantly appears as though Meg would be the last person to do the job.....but I think she will.
The willing of vengence on Craig and the "together" part makes it seem like in the future, one of the parties....Ro or Paul might have second thoughts about pursuing the final vendetta towards Craig. Be interesting to see if both Paul and Ro continue with their plan.

Well we know she does go to Oakdale, I believe the week of the 13th but the question is for how long. She's listed as recurring in the credits, so the question is will it be like before and she renews a short contract every few months, or is the length of the stay already determined? I was hoping she had at least committed to stay for a year.

I'm not surprised she is recurring, b/c ATWT seems to allow her to do that, so why would she sign a contract? She seems to like having that freedom.
I know she did for a bit last time, but the bulk of time I believe she was recurring the last time she was here.

She did sign for one year eventually when she was on before. I would have thought though the show would be tired of not knowing how long she would be around for since it makes it difficult to plan a story that way. I wouldn't have expected a 3 year contract and perhaps there is something signed for a shorter time. I find it odd that nothing has been said about her contract status. We knew before she was recurring but that she planned on sticking around. I'm curious if she is really back to stay or just for a few months.

Recurring? This is disappointing given her track record for bailing. Maybe the show let it be this way because they don't plan to have her on for too long. I can't imagine they'd want to plan long-term story for her this way.
She was featured prominently for almost two years on recurring status before she signed a contract. She got a lot of airtime. I think the show is willing to let her do whatever she wants because she's such a fan favorite. When her contract ended last time she took a couple months off and came back once again as recurring. She's not one for longterm commitments. Even when she returned to AMC, her "home" soap, she only signed for a year. And then they cut her loose long before that year ended, so perhaps she's just being cautious.
I'm disappointed because I was hoping for some sort of contract, but oh well. Maybe if she's happy in a few months she'll sign something.

Which includes Rosanna.
ESPECIALLY Rosanna. Paul's motive for his actions in the last 3 1/2 years was ROSANNA:
Helping Lucy- for Rosanna.
Fighting with Jordan- for Rosanna.
Fighting with James- for Rosanna.
baby switch- because of Rosanna.
hoking up with Emily- to get over Rosanna.
dumping Emily- because of Rosanna.
hooking up with Mrs. Montgomery- cheap substitute for Rosanna.
his war against Craig- for Rosanna.
It's always about Rosanna.

:) With all due respect RHfan. I understand what you are saying but the last few months have been about Paul and his love for Meg. He let go of his war against Craig for Meg. He saw that she was turning into him and he did not want that. He asked her to forget about her plans to take down Craig and think about them and the life they could have. He has been very supportive and loving when it comes to Meg. Please go back and watch the show. He has been very truthfull with Meg when it comes to Ro. Paul sees Ro as his past. He will always care about her but Meg is the one he wants to Marry and have a family with. Paul told Lily his life is and will always be about Meg. Roger Howarth had some really good things to say about Marie WIlson because he likes working with her and he knows that Paul and Meg are a good match for each other.

I also think Meg was a substitute for Rosanna. A sorry one at that. As she is for Craig. Now, with Rosanna back in the mix of things, well what can I say....Mrs. Craig Montgomery, I suspect for all intents and purposes, will be getting that long awaited and much deserved slap-down she has coming.

Paul was late to save Rosanna from Craig and swore never to be late again, his protection of Mrs. Montgomery came from his scars and fears from what Craig did to ROSANNA!
As for what he told her, he said the SAME things to Emily but ended up dumping her because he admitted he wasn't over Ro. so it really doesn't mean anything.
Roger Howarth had some really good things to say about Marie WIlson because he likes working with her and he knows that Paul and Meg are a good match for each other.
He said she is brave and has dignity. He never said she is a good actress, he never said he likes Paul with her or WANT Paul with her- this is YOUR spin.
Beside, he can have his opinions, doesn't mean I have to agree with them or support them. I can THINK for myself and have my OWN opinions.

RH didn't say the end of "Maul" either. However Paul Ryan's SL continues he's obviously one very happy camper to resign his contract and say, "I'm exactly where I am supposed to be. And I am happy to be in the right place."

Somewhat OT: I do believe he complimented Marie Wilson's acting though cos he spoke highly of Trent & Jesse Sofer's acting & included MW in that same sentence.
U also dont bring much dignity to something if u r not good at it especially the arts.
I do agree w/ RHFan that that doesnt necessarily signify that he wants PEG more than Pro but I dont care what he wants its what I want that matters. ;)

I see your point of view, but since CH asked him about staying with ATWT vs returning to OLTL I'm taking his response in reference to THAT. :D
