I thought I should let you know that I am not going to be on the boards much tomorrow and Tuesday. I actually don't know how long I am going to be off as a matter of fact. I am having surgery tomorrow afternoon to remove two plates and 10 screws out of my left arm. The plates and screws are from reconstruction surgery I had about three years ago when I shattered the radius bone my left arm. I have been having problems with pain since Wednesday and it basically got worse. As for exactly how long I am going to be off, I don't know. It all depends on at this point how much tendon damage there is going to be. :Fever: I just don't want people thinking I dropped off the board.

It's also hard for me to type right now because I have a cast on my left arm and my left thumb is basically immoblized so not to cause any further damage.

Thanks bcbgirl! I will try to get on to let you all know how it went--it just depends on what they find and how bad everything is.

Yes I did play softball. The 33 and 32 part of my name were actually my jersey numbers. I played from the time I was 6 up until three years ago--when I shattered my arm in a work related accident at the end of the softball season in 2004.

Thanks ter2boo.

Thanks justy!

I played mostly third and shortstop after high school. I was actually a pitcher until my junior year of high school after separating my right shoulder twice playing summer ball. I loved playing and I do miss playing at times because I had to give it up because of the injury I suffered to my left arm.

Thanks everybody. Hopefully I won't be gone long!

My mom signed me up for t-ball the summer after I had leg surgery to correct a birth defect (that was back in 1982 I had the surgery). She signed me up because a lot of my friends were playing and she wanted to see how I would do. She didn't think that I was going to play for 21 years! There are days I wish I could play because I had to stop playing do to the injury that I suffered and the reason why I am having surgery tomorrow. It wasn't my choice to stop, but oh well. I have lived with it for almost three years now.

Thanks everybody!

The surgery ended up having to be rescheduled due to the power being cut (there's a new thread to that). It ended up having to be rescheduled for next Monday.

My thoughts are with you, softball. Surgery is no walk in the park. Rehab isnt either. I'll be thinking of you. Good Luck.

This surgery isn't supposed to be that bad. It's only going to take about 45 minutes to an hour to remove all the metal and to check for tendon damage and repair that. Supposedly, I am not going to need rehab for this. I'll be in a cast for an additional three weeks afterwards and that's it. My surgeon said that it's easier to remove the plates than to put them in.

Thanks scrawny.
