I just read the article. And i agree it is to a point about Brad. He is jealous. But Micheal also said that for a while he will just see Maura in the building. He says that Brad is playing both sides but i think we do get to see Katie and Jack together. The kiss shaked them it says. When you don't feel anything you dont' get the shakes..

I think it is all about Brad and Katie and Jack and Carly. Always thought it was. Michael says they do listen to Brad for some unknown reason  It is also mentioned that there is huge rooting value for Jack and Carly and that some fans like Brad and Katie.
Jack won't see Carly for a while, but we also don't know where Carly will be. He could be working to find her too. And Jack will also be out of town for a while.
LOL...sometimes I wish Michael would just keep his trap shut. "Some people aren't hip to Jack and Katie...."
Possibly the understatement of the year.
And I always "get the shakes" when I know I've done something way past stupid.
GO BRAD!!!

Indeed, when Henry dumped Vienna at the altar on yesterday's episode, it brought back all the heartache Jack and Katie suffered at the hands of Carly (him) and Simon and Mike (her).
Ugh! This is my problem with Jack and Katie. Carly did hurt Jack, but ultimately he left her. Jack never seriously tried to get her back. Katie caused Mike heartache. Katie is wholey responsible for her own misery.

Yes i agree but only partly. Big a Katie fan as i am. I cheared when Mike left KAtie. SHe had been unfaithfull. And unfaithfulness is in my eyes the end of a relationship.
But you also said that yes Carly hurt Jack but he did't try to get her back. Did it never occur to you that Jack just had enough?
I mean there is a limit to what a person will take from another. Maybe Carly just went to far!

I take issue with the characterizations being used to build Jack/Katie. That statement makes it seem that Jack and Katie are solely victims.
Did it never occur to you that Jack just had enough? I mean there is a limit to what a person will take from another. Maybe Carly just went to far!
Perhaps that is the case. But, the same can also be said for Carly. After all didn't she put up with all of Jack's choices in regards to both Julias?
I'm just frustrated with the writing for both Carly and Jack. IMO, both characters are so much richer and complex than Jean Passante has demonstrated that she either understands or is willing to write.

You are absolutely right. Thats why Carly moved on with Simon!
And i always say that if the one you loved moved on with somebody else there is NO reason for you to NOT do the same...
So i hope for JAck he gets the one HE wants..
What I take exception to is that Jack identifies with Vienna. OMG...how many times has he walked away from Carly, who was crying her eyes out, because he loved her, but couldn't be with her? It just boggles the mind.
Oh, and Katie was the one dealing out heartache to Mike and Simon...not the other way around.
Nonetheless, this does sound like a set up to get Brad to realize something about how he feels for Katie. Otherwise, I would have thought he'd be tickled pink to have Vienna free and heartbroken.
That Katie and all her "similarities" to Carly don't set off all of Jack's alarm bells makes no sense to me. Giving Katie her cute, perky, "helpfulness" routine back doesn't convince me Jack would be interested in her one whit. If anything, he should see right throught that act to the messed up little witch she is.

Did it never occur to you that Jack just had enough?
Did it ever occur to you that Jack has hurt Carly just as bad, if not more, than she could EVER hurt him? When he got his memory back, she should have divorced him. The kind of pain Jack inflicts onto Carly is completely different than the pain she inflicts on him. Nothing she's EVER done tells Jack she doesn't love him, but what he did to her screamed at his lack of love for her....and this is when Carly had done nothing WRONG, but just love him and be there for him. Just because the show ignores his misdeeds and harps and harps and HARPS on Carly's, doesn't me THIS viewer will forget. ;)

I forgot to mention this. Does it seem to anyone else, from reading interviews with both Michael and Maura, they'd like to put a fork in Jack and Carly and call it a day? I do.

Vienna hadn't spent months lying to Henry when he left. It would be like Mike identifying with Vienna even though he too left Katie crying. Moreover, I think they did a good job of showing that he didn't want to hurt Carly the last time and/or that her crying affecting him but it was something he felt he had to do. Now, on the other hand, it wasn't something that he had to do.

Yep. Why on earth would they want to keep repeating the same boring material they've already played for 10 years? They are creative talented people - Let their characters both move on and have new lives - and LOVES!

Nope I don't get that at all. In this article alone he talks about how great it is to just see her in the building. Maura has talked about how great it is working with Michael because unlike some other actors he will never try to make her look bad to prop himself up. I think they enjoy a chance every once in a while to work with someone else but I think they love coming back to the story of Jack and Carly.

Isn't that a little like asking why a broadway star would want to do the same play 8 times a week. They are on a soap opera. Part of that is expecting some repeat in sl. you are playing the same character. Moreover, as TPTB have clearly demonstrated they lack in the creativity department. Thus, even if no CarJack they still would probably be playing the same story except with actors who have less chemistry and IMO raw talent as they do. (or as the very least don't approach acting in the same way as they have grown accustomed to with each other)

Aww carjackfan wasn't that sweet. Or like when she said she would miss Michael Park the most because he is such a joy and makes her laugh. I love it when my couples get along. hahaha not always the case. Dave & maddie anyone?

Nope, because they've both said they love playing the angst of wanting to be together, but struggling to get there.

Carjacker, you're right. In one of Maura's last interviews before going on leave, the interviewer asked her what she missed the most and she said she really missed Jack and Carly because she misses working with Michael Park so much. She said she can't wait to get back to that because she loves their marriage. Doesn't sound to me like either one of them are tired of working together. And why would they? Their two characters are soap opera gold and they know it. http://pgpphoto.com:3864/images/smilies/smile.gif

I don't think it's the same at all. For one thing, most actors don't stay with the same play for over 10 years doing it 8 times a week! :P I know that I have read many actors who are part of a so-called supercouple saying that they love it when their couple breaks up because they get to work with other people and have new and different stories rather than just the same old same old.
And no, I don't think they'd play the same old Carjack story with other characters because other characters are DIFFERENT people with different histories and personalities and different stories to tell. Not the same thing at all.

In this week's SOD there is a great interview with Michael. Here's what he has to say about working with Maura vs. working with others:
You know, it's great to work with other people - she'll even say that - but I'm at home in scenes with her. I don't have to work. It just flows. Without Mojo, it took a little getting used to. I miss her to death. I tell her that everyday.
Sounds to me like his preference is to work with Mojo even if it has been 10 years!

The analogy is not to say that the time is the same, but the problem. If you are in a play you are will have to say the exact same words every night. That's the nature of being in a play until you get out. You just have to find ways to make it new.
And when you are on a soap opera, you will have to play the same character every day, and that character will be going through much of hte same stuff all of the time. That's the nature of being in this genre for more than 3 years.
And yes characters might have different histories, but the odds are they will find themselves in teh same situation. IE stuck in a triangle where one person is supposed to be the rock and one the exciting one. OR kidnapped. Or breaking up. And if you are going to be doing that. At least do it with the best. And I am sure members of supercouples like to break up. Actors also want their characters to not be stupic. And cops want to arrest the person for a change, but that's the nature of hte beast. And Michael and Maura are lucky because they love each other as people outside of character.

Oy, that made me verklempt. I feel so honored that I got to witness their very first scene together all those years ago. You don't see that kind of magic take hold every day. It was like watching the coronation of future soap royalty or something. And I still get the same goosebumps every time they share a scene.
Carjack is a special, special RARE commodity. Hatahs, get over it.

I remember those scenes oh so well too when they first met. I hadn't even liked Carly all that much her first time on the show, but it all changed in Montana. Here's what Michael says about that:
"I remember this day, because I went up on my lines like 20 times and I was cursing the moon and Maura {West} was laughing, saying "It's okay!' I felt like such an ass because - I don't know if everybody knows this - she's word-perfect every single time." Carly and Jack click as do their portrayers. "I loved Maura from day one. I felt like I'd won the lottery, being paired with her."

Carjackfan, thank you so much for posting these heart-tugging quotes from Michael about his wonderful and longrunning co-star Maura West, or as he affectionately calls her "Mojo". http://pgpphoto.com:3864/images/smilies/wub.gif I might just have to go out and spring for the $3 bucks and get the magazine since I no longer subscribe. I also noticed that Maura's picture is on the front page of the latest CBS Soaps Indepth. I just might have to pick it up as well.

I don't think they hate the CarJack pairing, they may hate the writing for them but not the pairing.
I'm sure they both are aware that they are part of a "supercouple" and realize eventually their characters will get back together. Perhaps they are just bored with having to play the same dumb scenarios over and over again and are just wanting to see their characters grow?

I'm so excited..I met Michael and Maura last year(at KD in VA last June) and to see them together in person was amazing. TPTB HAVE given both Carly and Jack "new loves". Both have even said ILY to their "loves". YET, it's just not the same as CarJack TOGETHER!
Carly and Jack belong together! No one will ever be Carly's true north but Jack. :)
Just as I enjoyed Carly with Simon until it just became stupid, I woudn't mind Jack with another woman EXCEPT Katie. IMO, Katie is even more destructive than Carly has EVER been! Jack left Carly for the VERY same things Katie has done to Mike. It's just not plausable for to believe Jack would fall for Katie UNLESS she is a replacement for Carly b/c Katie reminds Jack of Carly...his one true love. :D
