I recently found this great hint on boiling Easter Eggs on my favorite recipe site Allrecipes.com, and since it worked so well for me, I thought I'd pass it on.
Hard Boiled Eggs
Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water.
Bring water to a rolling boil and immediately turn off heat.
Cover the pan and let eggs stand in HOT water for 14 min (small egg), to 17 min (large eggs)
Drain eggs and cool in ice water.
This worked so well. The yolk didn't even turn that funny shade of green that usually happens when boiling eggs. Only one egg cracked, and thats the one I put aside to test if they really were cooked enough. I was so happy to see that it worked, and thought that since many of us were dying eggs I would pass it on. HAPPY EASTER!
