Damien is no where near 50. He and Lily are around the same age, which would make him about the same age as Dusty. If Dusty's good enough for Lucy then why shouldn't Damien be also? Whatever it takes to keep Paolo around for a while :D

And, if the writers stick to show history, Lucy was not even on screen when Damien and Lily were married. I don't even think they ever met.

Lusty had much more and had been through so much more and it wasn't really an age thing but the place they were in their lives. They both had been betrayed and learned to trust again and love again through eachother. Honestly the age thing never really accured to me after I fell in love with them. I'm sorry but if y'all think Lusty is over you are wrong. Lusty hasn't begun yet. I do not think SG/Lucy looks like a child. I thought she looked her age the day she had dinner with Lily in her red dress. I think she is very pretty and does look 21 to me.

Good point about Dusty and Lucy's love story being about two people who were both misunderstood by the people that knew them. Lucy saw good in Dusty when everyone else in town, including those that now embrace him, despised him. Dusty saw Lucy as a strong, capable young woman with the enormous capacity to love at the time when she was referred to as "Lullaby". Dusty and Lucy's love story, like Bogey and Bacall's, had nothing to do with age and everything to do with two people passionately in love and accepting each other as equals. BTW, Humphrey Bogart was in his early forties, and Lauren Bacall was 19 when they met and fell in love. It worked, she's still known as Bogey's Baby.

Sorry, but I don't want to see Damien with any of the women of Oakdale that I like. His age isn't the problem. He's a creep and he always has been. I don't like how he treats Luke, either. He will probably cozy up to Lucy to try and manipulate Luke.

Yes kevin is still in high school, and even though lucy is an intern she has only been out for like 2 years. So that means there is like three years between them. As opposed to twenty to thirty between her and dusty or damien

Girls mature faster than boys, and that works with high school boys and college educated women, too. Lucy was always more mature than others her age. Now with going through everything she's been through, plus the fact that whether anyone believes it or not, Lucy's now an intern. She is light years beyond other 21, 22 year olds. It is highly unlikely than any woman 21 years of age wants to date a 17 year old, let alone a hospital intern who is still in love with last live-in boyfriend who was much older. Besides Kevin is Luke's love, isn't he?

And like I said before Lucy and Dusty were not about age. Lucy and Damien shouldn't be dismissed because of the age difference. They should be dismissed because Damien is utterly gross. I don't think it's the idea that since Lucy loved Dusty that she should be with any older man, or any man at all, as long as it isn't Dusty is correct thinking. Lucy needs to be with the RIGHT man, regardless of age. And there's only one man that's right for Lucy....

BTW, there's around 18 years between Dusty and Lucy, not 30. Thirty years would make Grayson McCouch's character 48 years old. Whenever Sierra told Lucy that Dusty was twice her age, Lucy said he wasn't. So that 18 years is approximate.

Age isn't the problem here. History and chemistry are. Dusty will always come back to Lucy, and vice versa. It might not be automatic with the writers, but I have no doubt that it will happen eventually.

And it's apparent that Dusty will have an issue with Luke being gay.....ESPECIALLY where Johnny is concerned.....yet another stumbling block. I think the writers will try, but it ain't gonna happen

18 years is not a lot of a difference depending on how old the younger one is. IMO, once the younger one is 30, the difference is not significant, but before that, it is, obviously to lessening degrees as the younger approaches 30.

I recently read that Katharine McPhee has a 41 year old boyfriend. I think she is only 23. That is weird. I can see why a 23 year old, insecure girl might want a 41 year old boyfriend, but what is wrong with the 41 year old that he needs to date a young woman who is practically still a child? Blah.

I think Lucinda would wind up being Lusty's biggest supporter. Lucinda loves Dusty and Lucinda loves Lucy. She also knows that Dusty did the most unselfish act of his life by not proposing to Lucy and letting her go away to get her education. Now that Lucy has this education, and a career picked out, I think she would be thrilled to see Lucy reunite with Dusty.

I have no idea how Dusty feels about Luke being gay, so I'm not going to assume he's homophobic. Not everyone is homophobic or feels that you can become "that way" by just being in contact with someone who is gay. I would hate to think that the writers are going to turn Dusty into more of a self-righteous judgemental pig than he currently is. He's not very popular right now and anymore pontificating on his part would only seal his fate as Oakdale's most despised character. I still have faith that Dusty can be redeemed, and that Lucy is the one that will save his soul once again.

Why would Luke be a bad influence on Johnny? Why would we believe that Luke would have that much control of Johnny's life or that much contact with him when Lusty reunites? Why do we believe that Dusty's gonna raise Craig's child? I think Craig's gonna come back and we will see one heck of a custody fight. I think Johnny's in more danger with his psychotic Grandma Babs, who is a kidnapper who jumps through courtroom windows, than poor Will who has never hurt anyone.

Dusty was destroyed the day he ventured into a relationship with Jen. Hopefully now that she kicks the bucket (thanks to the soap Gods) Dusty can get back to being the sexy guy he once was before he got hooked up with Jen. He and Lucy will be back together in now time and Damian will be a non entity.

If you were to really read what I said, I wasn't suggesting a real romance between Damian and Lucy but rather them using each other in regards to Luke. And likewise you prefereed Lusty. In all honesty nobody knows whether the writers will go there again or not. While a lot of people assumed they would go there again, the writing now clearly is showing Jen as the great love of Dusty's life Wub It remains to be seen what the future holds and none of us know at this point.

They can write Justamess anyway they like, getting viewers to actually buy into what they're trying to sell is another matter. Frankly, I think they knew Jenn would lose yet another man to another woman, and they weren't going to have that happen to their "pet". Killing her off avoids seeing Jenn as a total loser when it comes to men, and it gets rid of a character that many have grown tied of. I would have enjoyed watching the triangle as I believe the interest in Lusty is much stronger than the interest in Justamess. I'm not seeing either JF or GM or this couple in any of the polls and I assume their fans are voting for them. When Lusty I got steam you couldn't keep them out of the polls, or out of the magazines, or photoshoots or joint interviews with the actors. Neither GM or JF ever refer to the other actor in any of their interviews, and they are never interviewed or photographed together. Isn't that unusual for a "great" soap opera love story? I wonder why they never took the time to pimp this storyline together? Maybe it's because they were never meant to be a long term storyline. Just a hypothesis for the lack of press.

LOL you may want to reread some of the interviews they have done. Grayson even said his mother wanted him to marry Jennifer Ferrin lol and he talked about the women Dusty was with getting better and better. They did talk about each other. Much of the time they were together, first they didn't know if Grayson was staying and then they didn't know about Jennifer. And it wasn't long ago they got an SOD cover. They actually did get a fair amount of press, but that isn't ultimately what counts. And no it's not unusal for them not to be interviewed together. SOD just did the first actual interview with Maura and Michael together in the last year, and Carly and Jack have been a very popular couple for many years.. As far as polls, anyone can spam them and some Lusty fans proudly proclaimed online that they did that lol talking about using multiple computers at school and work. The polls are a joke and even as a fan, I can't remember the last time I voted. Most CBS fans tend to not get involved with those because they know TPTB don't take them seriously. Like it or not, the writers are saying Jen is the great love of Dusty's life. Since the whole think is ficiton anyhow they can say whatever they want.

I do remember that one interview. Thank you for reminding me. Actually Grayson first said those lines almost exactly regarding Peyton List as Lucy. I believe his mother loved Peyton, too, and wanted to invite her to New England for Thanksgiving. Grayson apparently recycles his compliments and stories. LOL

I do agree that since this is fiction, the writers can do what they want. It's up to us as viewers as to whether we buy it or not.
