I don't want to see Jennifer die. I've never been a big fan of hers but I don't want to see her die off the show. She was just now getting her life together. It's like she's being robbed of her happiness. I always hate to hear of someone dying in real life that either just got engaged, married or had a baby. It's like they never get to experience that happiness that they have been looking forward to. I really wish she wasn't leaving the show.

I agree Shearmagic. I don't always like Jennifer, but I hate to see a character die. She has been an important character for a very long time and it makes no sense to kill her off instead of finding a suitable recast or at least leaving the role open in case Jennifer Ferrin decided to come back after a couple of years.

You mean she's not dead yet? Darn it, how long do I have to wait until she kicks the bucket. Yesterday, she really looked half dead so I guess I don't have long to wait.

ITA, I have not always liked her character but I started to really ejoy her these last few months as well as her relationship with Dusty. I think Jenn F. is a fine actress and a very important character on the show. I wish they would recast her.

What gets me about this s/l is that Jenn probably shouldn't really even be around Johnny, whose immune system may be compromised right now, which makes him more susceptible to catching viral pneumonia from her. He is far more likely to die in such a case than Jenn who is not a young child or an older person or someone with an autoimmune disorder. It just doesn't seem very realistic to me. I have had viral pneumonia and it does make you very weak, but couldn't they come up with something more plausible for a cause of death (assuming that they really did need to kill off the character, which I think they should have avoided)?

I think this storyline was put together quickly when a suitable recast couldn't be found. I'm not a fan of Jennifer Munson's and that started with Jen and Jordan who I thought were dull. I won't miss this character. I think she's been overused.
I do think Jennifer Ferrin is a pretty actress. I wish her the best of luck.

I will miss her. I think its a big mistake to kill her off--I just have to say, I think she's got the most beautiful hair I believe ive ever seen---I wish Jen Ferrin all the luck in the world--she is a terrific actress. Go get em, Jen!

lol i was thinking the same thing why was she around johnny? and i didnt think anyone died of pneumonia anymore since they invented penicillin except people who were immunosuppressed like say someone who has just had a transplant.

Well, I love the character of Jennifer and this is absolutely devestating to me but I have this little hunch that there *might* be more to this s/l than what we are being told, but it is just one of those wait and see situations. I just don't see them killing off such a core character who has so much going on right now.

I can't believe they are killing off Jennifer. Jade needs to be the ones to kick the bucket not Jennifer.

From a creative standpoint, Jade's death means nothing to Oakdale. She has no family, no one to mourn, and her death brings has no consequences unless Gwen or Will kills her. You know they're not going to have either of those characters kill Jade. Whenever a character that matters to viewers dies, it brings interest to the soap. They will be written about in the mags and new stories can be launched from the death. I loved little Cassie on Y&R, and I didn't like that they killed her. I do have to say that her death brought forth so many more storylines that wouldn't have previously existed without her dying. Maybe the creative powers at ATWT are taking a cue from one of the best. There's a reason Y&R is arguably the best soap on TV and ATWT keeps losing viewers. You can only put so many women in comas. Characters that come from established families die on soaps. And unlike B&B, which borders on being a comedy whenever Taylor resurrects herself time and time again like the Vampire Lestat, most soaps try to keep this sort of stuff realistic. Death occurs in real life, and it happens to young people, too. Soap characters are only important as long as they're getting a frontburner storyline.
There will be other characters that will replace this one, and any of the other characters that might leave. I can name dozens of characters that have left this show after watching it for 40 years. Betsey Stewart, Dan Stewart, Liz Stewart, Dee Stewart, Ellen Stewart, Andy Dixon, John Dixon, Steve Andropolous, Shannon McKechnie, Duncan McKechnie, Bonnie McKechnie, Chris Hughes, Alison Stewart, Frannie Hughes, Jennifer Hughes, Casey Peretti (Katie's father who died very young), Iva Snyder, Don Hughes, Lisa's son Chuck who died, Grant, who was Lisa's best husband, Nick Andropolous, Gunnar St. Clair.....Many of these characters simply left town never to return, and many died, and died young. Casey, Chuck, Nick, Gunnar, Liz (who was more popular than Jen at the time she fell "up" the stairs and died), Jen Hughes, too....ATWT has gone on without each and every one of them, most of whom have very strong family connections to Oakdale and were popular with the fans.
For Jen fans, and JF fans, I would take a little heart in the fact that TPTB thought Jennifer Ferrin was so good in the role that she couldn't be replaced.
I don't think Jennifer's character should die. Jade's character is not needed in my opinion. Or if it must be a Munson, let Will's character die. Then I won't have to hear anymore how much he hates his mother( Barbara), his father(Hal) and his brother(Paul).
