I'll feel sorry for Lucy, too. But I still don't understand how it'll be Lucy's fault. If Jen left the hospital against medical advise (AMA), that's not Lucy's fault. And if Lucy missed something in Jen's chart, why wasn't another doctor (NOT an intern) there tending to Jen?

Miss B. Haven
06-22-2006, 05:42 PM
I don't think Lucy will be Jen's doctor ( she should'nt be anyway ) More than likely Lucy visits Jen and 'lets it slip" that she can leave AMA. Just my speculation.

ETA: Did Jen smoke meth in a water bong? I have a theory but it will blow if she didn't LOL

Nah, I don't think it wil be Lucy's fault. Jen's the one who ultimately decides to leave the hospital while she is sick which is her legal right. Unless you're committed by a court to be on the psych ward, you have the legal right to leave without a doctor's discharge. Heck, I was told that when I was in the hospital once. I stayed.

The writers are going to put a dramatic spin on it, but ultimately Lucy won't be blamed for long. I would hate to think that all of Jenn's bad decisions in her life will always be blamed on someone else, even her last one. This should provide a lot of interesting fallout and potential storylines for Oakdale. They need some fresh ones.

It could go the same way for the people that posted over and over again about the ridiculousness of Lucy becoming a doctor in a year, the multiple posts of Emily hate, Meg hate, and Lusty hate. What about the multiple posts of the Jade hate fest and how Damian's return has just sucked and what he tried to do to his son was just awful?? I've seen tons of posts about that.

I think it's a little unfair to call some people immature for not caring about Justy (I didn't like them and honestly this isn't how I'd send Jen out if I was writing her exit) but it's my opinion and I'm entitled to it whether you agree or not but to call people redundant and immature is low especially when it goes on all over the boards.

Where did Grayson's Girl mention Justy? She was talking about Jennifer...she clearly mentioned Jennifer....

I have to say that I am honestly shocked that they are going this route! As much as I have NOT enjoyed Jenifer this year, and I was hoping she would just leave town, I didn't necessarily want her killed off! That's a bit drastic and permanent! So now who will raise Johnny!? OMG, just think of the options, Dusty, Babs, Paul or Will??!! Those are some scary options. I think at this point I would pick Lucy to raise the boy. She's young but at least she's a good person.

I thought Lucy was suppose to specialize in Pediatrics, what is she doing givng a diagnosis to Jen, she definitely not a baby. This makes absolutely no sense but then again this is a soap and a doctor never seem to specialize in one field just like Jessica is a criminal lawyer, a divorce lawyer, etc.

I didn't see this coming; I was thinking recast but not killing Jennifer and leaving Johnny with Dusty. I read somewhere that Margo leaves town, maybe she will go see Craig and tell him about Jennifer. I'm not a big Jennifer fan, but I don't like this.

They don't even have to recast right away. Frannie and Sabrina Hughes have been in Montega for years. Betsy Stewart has been wandering the globe. Rosanna is in a coma and may never come out. I'd read a previous spoiler that said Jennifer would leave town with Johnny. Nothing wrong with that for writing off a character. But the new trend in primetime is killing off important characters, so I guess they're following the trend. I don't like it.

Yes, that was what I was saying. I understand that they apparently are going to throw away an important character for no reason, and I was suggesting that they are doing so, because that's what all the primetime shows are doing now. It's fine for primetime, because those shows are not based on families with generations that go on for decades. It's a travesty for daytime.

I don't really care for the character of Jennifer, but she is Barbara's daughter, she is connected to a lot of people in Oakdale. To kill her off seems wrong, when they could have just let her leave town for a while. I swear, the writing team seems to be hinking on the here and now instead of possibilities for the future. Sure, killing her now will leave Dusty greiving and wounded and ready for the young doctor to heal his broken heart... but really..... there are other ways of putting Dusty back together with Lucy and Jennifer does not have to die to make a way for this. I am amazed that they would kill off a young woman on the show when there are so few in that age group already.

carolk
06-23-2006, 05:04 PM
The way Dusty has been acting, it would be perfectly reasonable for Jennifer to realize she doesn't want to marry him after all and leave town. Now, if they decide they want Barbara to have a daughter, they'll have to dream one up that she didn't know about, like Iva and Rose.

Ms. Tee 7
06-23-2006, 05:07 PM
Now, if they decide they want Barbara to have a daughter, they'll have to dream one up that she didn't know about, like Iva and Rose. Yeah, that sucks. Barbara is going to be crushed to lose her little girl. Paul and Will treat her like dirt most of the time. I had not even really thought of how this will affect Babs. I can see a few years passing and suddenly Barbara will have a dreamt up daughter. This is a bad move all the way around.

It just creates more storylines, think of it that way. If you recall GL's Phillip Spaulding's death (though he faked it and is now roaming Springfield willingly) everyone in Springfield was totally effected by it. And last year on Y&R they killed off Cassie Newman, she was imporatant and was part of an important family on the show, and she's gone and everyone was effected and there were more storylines on the show.

That's the kind scenario I was thinking about too. Or, if they make it look like she dies, we see (what we believe) is a beautiful, poignant end to her story....then at the end we see someone we don't know (or a doctor/orderly we don't know that had been lurking around the hospital) visit a shadowy figure in a prison uniform (who's face we don't see, for obvious reasons) and tell him that it's done, and Jen and her child are now separated....I could live with that. It would create enough doubt that it would leave viewers wondering "Did she really die?" for a long time to come, and buy plenty of time for them to find an adequate recast. Craig had to have seen James Stenbeck operate enough to be able to pull off something like that....and he has to be incredibly peeved that he lost his parental rights to Johnny. If anything would push him over the edge enough to do something that crazy, that would be it.

I think Grayson MCcouch and Jennifer Ferrin have great chemistry. I thought the show was riveting during the baby switch story. Having said that, it would be hard to capture the Jennifer/Dusty magic with someone else. They are great together. Just writing out Jennifer for now is the best way to handle it.

I wont miss Jen either and I think it's high time that Craig came back and regained his child. Even though I don't like the character, I am pretty shocked as most of you are that they decided to just kill her off because she does have so many ties. I think it will make for some great story for a lot of the cast.

IA have to agree about Lucy. She's just an intern, how can and should she be to blame for the duties of a DOCTOR? I mean, what is Lucy supposed to do? Handcuff Jennifer to the bed and force to her stay? It's her choice. And you would think that at the same time, that if Jennifer thinks she's recuperating that the last thing she should do is go and see her son since he's just gotten out of the hospital and doesn't need germs or infections either. Jennifer has a mind of her own and if she's going to leave, she's going to leave.
